Desde la introducción del computador personal IBM en 1981, las computadoras de escritorio se han convertido en una pieza fundamental en más sitios de trabajo. A través de su ubicuidad y su impacto en cómo el trabajo es hecho, las computadoras personales han transformado el lugar de trabajo. En los últimos tiempos, el uso e impacto de computadores personales varía a través de los diferentes grupos de trabajo educacionales y niveles de experiencia.
